Summary on Grant Application Form
To develop a network which will form a focus for UK based researchers in engineering and its applications, users and their representatives, and others working in inclusive environments, inclusive design, rehabilitation and allied fields. It is intended that the network will compliment exsisting networks especially those centred in key organisations such as age concern, anchor trust, research into ageing, centre for policy on ageing, the Technology for living forum, and FAST. It will work closely with the newly established Ageing Research Funders Forum, the successor to the immensely valuable agenet, and with appropriate government departments. The network will pursue four activities:1. Development of greater awareness amongst key institutions of how the needs of a community can be met through better research and more informed education programmes2. Direct interaction with those who influenceand make policies which effect the quality of the environment in which people live.3. Create a better platform for the application dissemination of current research.4. encourage high quality research through the sharing of expertise.
