Summary on Grant Application Form
This application proposes to develop a novel laser imaging technique that allows the collection of concentration data from an internal volume without the need for multiple access points. The use of novel ultra-fast (picosecond / femtosecond) lasers would provide spatial resolution without the need to detect laser stimulated emissions from a separate vantage point. Images would be collected through the same window that provides access for the laser. The viability of the technique would be demonstrated in a turbulent mixing layer and data would be validated by cross checking with existing in house techniques.
