Summary on Grant Application Form
The proposed research is a faststream application by a newly appointed lecturer at the Department of Chemistry and Physics, Nottingham Trent University. The proposed research will develop a unique facility in the UK, a turbulent high pressure flow tube apparatus with chemical ionisation mass spectrometric (CIMS) detection, which will provide quantitative kinetic and mechanistic data for a range of radical radical and radical stable reactions. A programme of laboratory studies is proposed to study the kinetics and mechanism of the self reaction of RO2 + RO2 (where R = CH3, C2H5, i-C3H702 or t-C4H902).
