Summary on Grant Application Form
EPR spectroscopy and related techniques are uniquely suited to studying systems containing unpaired electrons to give information on, for example, geometric and electronic structure and molecular dynamics. This proposal seeks support to continue the successful operation of a National Service for EPR Spectroscopy, incorporating:I. Multi-frequency (1-34 GHz) continuous wave EPR at the university of Manchester.II. Multi-frequency (9 and 34 GHz) continuous wave ENDOR at Cardiff University andIII. High-frequency (90-270 GHz) at the university of St Andrews. The service will support and promote fundamental and applied research in paramagnetic materials and will provide excellent training to post graduate students, and established academics, in EPR techniques.
