Summary on Grant Application Form
Highly polar fluorofullerenes such as CBOFI 8, CSOFI 80, CBOFI 7CF3 etc are to be prepared in gram quantifies, and derivatised with a view to obtaining compounds with outstanding electron donor-electron acceptor properties, and suitable for incorporation into photovoltaic devices. Electron transfer YAII be measured under ground state and photocatalytic conditions. The suitability of all compounds (parents and derivatives) as non-linear optical materials Ml] be assessed, and tested also (if non-centrosymmetric) for second harmonic generation.
