Summary on Grant Application Form
The Lawrence and McCarty theory has formed the backbone of the design and operation of wastewater treatment plants for the past 30 years. However, this revel of understanding may not be adequate to meet new challenges in environmental engineering and wastewater treatment. We wish to explore the use of established ecological theories to help us engineer the treatment population we are able to measure with our novel molecular tools.
