Summary on Grant Application Form
This grant application proposes the replacement of two 13-year-old 200 MHz NMR spectrometers with a single, modern automated 400 MHz NMR spectrometer in the Dyson Perrins Laboratory. The new instrument will wholly replace the two ageing and near obsolete instruments in the provision of a rapid throughput NMR service for the day-to-day characterisation of synthetic and biosynthetic materials. This instrument will operate in support of all research activities within the laboratory and will be available to research groups at all times in a multi-disciplinary role. To enhance the utility this facility via electronic manipulation of collected data, we also wish to extend the availability of off-line processing facilities by the provision of two additional NMR workstations.
