Summary on Grant Application Form
The purpose of this application is to install a series of cutting edge equipment facilities, to support multidisciplinary research into the physical, engineering and mathematical sciences in seven 5* departments at Oxford University in collaboration with academic, governmental and industrial research partners. The equipment requested consists of a quantum squid magnetometer, femtosecond laser, atomic force microscope, scanning electron microscope, surface analysis equipment, device fabrication and assessment equipment, and computing facilities. This equipment will be used to support a wide spectrum of research concentrated mainly on solid state physics and chemistry and associated engineering applications, including a new Multipurpose Surface Analysis Facility and a Centre for Advanced Terminal Technologies.
