Summary on Grant Application Form
PELS-2000 is the second conference in a series started in 1997 in Toronto. It is organised in co-operation with the European Physical Society, the Optical Society of America, the Physical Society of Japan, the Institute of Physics (London) and the Russian Academy of Sciences. PELS-2000 has been officially recognised as a satellite conference to CLEO/IQEC Europe 2000, 10-15 September, 2000 Nice, France. The conference is designed as meeting for a relatively small, but highly devoted group of participants. By nature it is an interdisciplinary conference which aims to bring together physicists, engineers, chemists and biologists who are interested in vectorial effect of the light-matter interaction or who use polarisation sensitive spectroscopy in their research. The scope of the conference is truly interdisciplinary; it spreads from optical activity in living matter to spin dynamics on solids, from anisotropy in photonic crystals to fundamental experiments on vectorial pattern formation in lasers.
