The proposal advocates the creation of a research network. Such a network will seek to develop integration and co-operation amongst interested parties: academic researchers, related technological researchers and automotive industry practitioners. As such, these three groups will be represented in the network's core steering group committee. From this source of expertise a funnel for new interdisciplinary research be created. Also, the actions of the steering group will cascade dissemination through to the audience they represent. At the end of the three years a self sustaining and valued resource will have been generated that is used as a matter of course by all serious researchers in (or interfacing with) the market operations side of the automotive sector.
