Summary on Grant Application Form
To design suitable finite element and finite volume schemes or combinations of the same, for dealing with viscoelastic problems that manifest dominant convection and possess non-trivial solution-dependent source terms. A semi-Lagrangian implementation with cell-centred staggered grid FV methods will be contrasted with cell-vertex triangular mesh FV schemes with fluctuation distribution. The various formulations will consider the following issues:a. suitability of full FV system discretisation as opposed to a hybrid version;b. use of structured or unstructured grids, contrast between quadrilateral and triangular cells; selection of variable location involving staggered, cell-vertex or cell-centred;c. treatment of flux and source terms;d. Lagrangian or Eulerian scheme choices;e. application to model (analytical) and benchmark problems;f. validation against experiments.EngProg\
