Summary on Grant Application Form
We will investigate the automation of access control policy management. The context is OASIS role-based access control for an NHS HER system. OASIS has a role definition language, for defining role entry policy, which we will extend to control service invocation.A policy store which serves the OASIS-secured services in a domain is at the heart of this work. We will use an ODMG database to represent policy and to implement an active policy store - any policy changes will trigger event notifications to interested parties. We will integrate this research with related work on near-natural language policy expression, its translation into logic notation and its automatic compilation into RDL.We will deploy the results within our ongoing projects.
