Summary on Grant Application Form
Much work has been done on identifying benefit and implementing S&P in construction. This work has focused on identifying opportunities and developing strategies. Little has been achieved in terms of measuring the benefits. The vision for the IMMPREST model has arisen from the successful completion of a prototype model framework for the Mechanical sector. This pilot study demonstrated that the data required to evaluate benefit could be identified and the location of that information pinpointed within the supply chain. It went on to demonstrate that alternative measurement techniques such as could be developed in a meaningful way and use in parallel with simple traditional measurement. It further revealed that the information required for decision support was diverse and covered every aspect of construction design and management. The IMMPREST project aims to complete the work started during the pilot study and extend the model to incorporate foundations, structure, envelope, internal works, building services and equipment. The IMMPREST model will be used to support design, procurement and business decisions relating to the incorporation of S&P into construction.EngProg\
