Summary on Grant Application Form
The aims of the programme are described in Section A3. The Through Life Business Model (TLBM) covers seven stages ranging from the concept through to briefing, detailed design, construction, commissioning, facilities management and replacement.A generic Through Life Business Model (TLBM) will be developed using an ILS approach. Validation of the model will demand extensive application research. With diverse cultures and processes operating throughout construction projects, the validation exercise will concentrate on four types of building services systems. The selected four areas are: heating ventilation and air conditioning; water; power; and lifts. Each application shall develop the TLBM, from the concept stage through to the replacement stage. In these four areas project teams will be formed, each with its Team Leader. Each group will include a consultant, a contractor, a facilities manager representing the client and a manufacturer. The Team Leaders will focus on establishing the TLBM using ILS tools (see A1) together with the integrated support elements. Validation exercises will be conducted to provide a consistent analysis of the results.
