Our previous research underlined the associated performance advantages of burst-by-burst adaptive transceivers in the context of OFDM, CDMA and single-carrier modems. This proposal endeavours to capitalise on our previous work in the field and to enhance the bit error rate (BER) versus Bit per Symbol (BPS) trade-off achieved. A range of novel techniques will be invoked, including convolutional and block-based turbo error control techniques, trellis coded modulation and turbo trellis coded modulation, residue number system based channel codecs, etc. Adaptive beam-forming arrangements using the sample matrix inversion in conjunction with multi-user detection (MUD).
