Summary on Grant Application Form
Engineering systems are always subject to disturbances. Disturbances attenuation such as the elimination of offset is a major objective in the control of industrial systems. But most of non-linear control methods for non-linear systems with disturbances lead to the solution of nonlinear partial differential equations, which are rarely solvable. This project aims to develop a nonlinear disturbance observer based control scheme for nonlinear systems with unknown disturbances, which is based on non-linear control and nonlinear disturbance observer techniques. The research will focus on the overall behaviours of the composite controllers. The techniques to be developed swill be generic and are believed to be applicable in practical systems since linear disturbance observer based control technique has been widely applied in industrial nonlinear systems. The theoretic results will be supported by simulative and experimental case studies.
