|
The course aims to provide students with a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to catalysis taking them from the fundamental principles underlying catalysis through to the actual factors which govern its practice in industry .Students will learn the chemistry , chemicals engineering, physics and materials science necessary to understand catalysis and develop the interdisciplinary research skills needed for innovation in catalysis. In addition frontier subjects like high throughput methods, sustainablity and IPR will be addressed. The course will provide well-trained personnel in a technology that underpins 80% of the chemical industry . The objectives of the course are to : .provide an up-to-date and multidisciplinary knowledge base in catalysis. .to equip students with the information and skills relevant to the needs of the modern chemical industry. .to provide an efficient training route in topics targeted at both enabling a~d emerging technologies in the chemical industry . .to provide an understanding of the factors necessary to put catalytic principles into practice in industrial situations.
