Summary on Grant Application Form
The training package will provide advanced courses in communications, broadband networks and mobile/wireless systems to be taken full-time leading to the degree of MSc, or as individual modules as part of a CPD programme. Funding will allow the achievement of the following objectives: 1. Increasing the numbers of high-quality graduates entering the economically important telecommunications sector. 2. Flexibility in the programme allowing development with changes in the field, and concentration on systems-level education and training, particularly in the area of convergence between broadband and mobile systems. 3. High level of employers' engagement in course design and delivery (including hot-topic seminars). 4. Development of multimedia teaching into more web-based and distance-learning, making use of a substantial departmental commitment to such resources.
