A MSc course will be developed in Sustainable Waste Management consisting of a series of short, intensive modules each to be delivered over a one-week period. Part of the course will be based on t4h content of modules currently offered on MSc courses in Waste Management, Public Health Engineering and Environmental Pollution Control. New modules in Biowaste Treatment and Utilisation, Hazardous Waste and Contaminated Land, Waste to Energy and Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control will be developed using in-house expertise and industrial collaborators. The packages are targeted at the waste industry to be taken either as stand-alone CPD courses to suit specialist needs, or as a complete MSc on a full or part-time basis.Aims and Objectives: 1. to provide a set of modules for the waste industry to be taken as an MSc or CPD;2. to use a short intensive module format to maximise the availability to industry; and3. to provide network based, coursework to be run interactively using the internet facilitating off site project work.
