Summary on Grant Application Form
We propose to establish a major UK centre for Advanced Training and Education in Computer Science. This will build on our successful range of masters courses, in particular the MSc in Advanced Computer Science. This is taught in a flexible modular format and integrated with an Industrial Masters programme. We propose to extend this activity, in collaboration with industrial partners and other institutions to provide: training for industry in advanced technologies and relevant business management skills, flexible delivery of courses (customised training packages , modules provided by industrial partners, industrial placements etc) and a significant investment in on-line qualifications and distance learning, new MSc programmes in emerging interdisciplinary areas.
