This is a proposal to investigate whether the lack of process and factory modelling and analysis in Spacecraft manufacture can be addressed by the vertical integration of state-of-the-art methods and proprietary systems for production modelling and visualisation with novel, aggregate process modelling technology. This integration will facilitate the seamless application of process and factory capability criteria from the early stages of design, allowing the time-based and multi-domain interpretation of the Bill of Materials. This will underpin process evolution and the project will seek to pilot process evolution in the context of composite panels manufacture. The main novel elements are (i) the use of aggregate process models as an integration technology between high-end design and manufacturing analysis systems and (ii) the calculation and dynamic validation of process capability during design by employing tolerance analysis and measurement feedback methods. If successful, the research will result in improved quality of designs and increased production flexibility and process control, which will be exemplified by meeting due dates and reduced spacecraft costs. The project has received substantial support from industry and vendors alike and there are firm plans to exploit the results of the research.EngProg\
