Summary on Grant Application Form
Development of a 'living growth' polymerisation route to controlled molecular weight, high purity mono-dispersed substituted PPV polymers that originate from a common synthetic route based on new cyclophene precursors. We intend to develop a general route to substituted cyclophenes. These will be used to prepare polymers with useful materilas properties. The project will be continually assessed by measuring the photophysical properties of the polymers, any systems with interesting materials properties will be scaled-up and tested in display applications.
