|
The aim of this proposed programme is to study the important factors controlling the growth of group III-nitrides by MOVPE and by PA-MOVPE. To achieve this goal we intend to study the growth process using a combination of in-situ mass spectrometry, optical spectrometry for the plasma source and optical monitoring of growth. We will investigate the growth of GaN using a variety of Ga precursors combined with atomic nitrogen or ammonia and will separate the roles of gas phase and surface interactions. We will study the effects of hydrogen especially in relation to (InGa) N alloys.
