Summary on Grant Application Form
Many control and estimation problems for non-linear control systems have a closed solutions if we assume that the system to be controlled is precisely known and no external disturbances are acting on it. On the contrary, in presence of uncertainties, control and estimation problems are much more difficult. Although some solutions are vailable, several important issues are still open. This includes the efficient computations of information state controllers, the use of factorisations in control design and model reductions. We aim to study some of these problems for classes of non-linear systems. The final goal is to improve the existing theory and to provide a computational efficient method for the design of robust controllers.
