Summary on Grant Application Form
The main beneficiaries will be the UK process industry manufacturers for whom the results are directly relevant and for whom the work is most apposite. Most companies in this sector are undergoing continual supply chain improvement programmes. Overall, we expect our techniques to improve key performance indicators (e.g. lead times, finished good stocks) by at least 15-30%. Through a planned community workshop we aim to make participants aware of the benefits of sophisticated approaches. Additionally, the work will have relevance for the burgeoning numbers of service suppliers in this area, and indeed the UK academic community, a number of whom have been turning their attention to this topic.
