Summary on Grant Application Form
To make significant progress on the conjecture that structural stability is dense in real one-dimensional dynamical systems (interval maps). Although this conjecture has very recently been solved in the unimodal case (in part by the principal investigator), a new approach is needed to solve the general case. The objective of this proposal is to extend all known methods to the multimodel case, and see whether some new ideas for proving quasi-symmetric rigidity can be made to work.
