Summary on Grant Application Form
New quadridentate biaryl ligands with N2O2 and N4 functionalities will be synthesised and used in the preparation of chiral all-cis complexes of Mo, W, Nb and Ta in high oxidation states. The auxiliary co-ordination sphere at the metal will contain imido, alkylidene and alkyl ligands as appropriate for use of the complexes in the catalysis of stereo- and enantioselective alkene hydrogenation, polymerisation, metathesis and cyclopropanation.
