Summary on Grant Application Form
We have demonstrated a novel technique for the detection of X-ray adsorption spectroscopy data, based upon gas microstrip detectors. These detectors allow high quality EXAFS data to be collected upon low intensity X-ray sources and offer the prospect of single-scan structural depth profiling. It is proposed to develop this technique into a robust technique for general use, and to explore the potential for in-situ studies of electrochemically produced surface layers and the heterogeneous catalysts.
