Summary on Grant Application Form
We intend to work on two main problems. The first is to prove a tensor product theorem for subgroups of exceptional groups. The idea for such a theorem is based on recent work of the Fellow with J.-P. Serre. If proved, it would provide a complete conceptual framework for understanding the reductive subgroups of exceptional groups. The second problem is to study proper subgroups of exceptional groups which are irreducible on some G-module, and to investigate some potential applications of this.
