Summary on Grant Application Form
There is a dysfunction between the product introduction process (PIP) and the legal processes that are involved in contracting. There are also issues relating to the transfer of data between different companies who are concurrently involved in the PIP. As there is a lack of concurrence between contracting and allied processes and the PIIP, there is waste in the system. Therefore, there are schisms between the engineering and legal functions (ie over the wall ).The ultimate vision is to demonstrate to civil and military customers that they will have lower cost, more competitive products, in shorter timescales when their exchange relations with their suppliers are improved. The opportunity is to develop the IPI, recognise the important interfaces with legal and commercial processes. This will ensure seamless information flow between participants in the process and the maximum concurrency of activity.
