Summary on Grant Application Form
Inverse boundary problems and, in particular GIBSP can be formulated for the wave phenomena in complex media with dissipation and memory. For such media conventional methods of inverse scattering cannot be implemented due to the novel type of quadratic form and complicated and still unclear structure of the corresponding spectral representation. This proposal is intended to 1) the study of the spectral theory for the corresponding operator pencils, and2) the generalisation of the BC-method onto the case of such pencils in order to solve the GIBSP described above.
