Summary on Grant Application Form
There are several areas of research (current and proposed) in which the static/dynamic light scattering equipment will be used. These include studies of polynuclear ions and polymeric inclusion compounds (polyrotaxanes), polymers and polymer/surfactant complexes at interfaces, swelling/deswelling of polymer gels, nanosize latex particles, heterocoagulation of mixed particle dispersions, phase separation in colloidal systems, microemulsions. These are all detailed in the Case for Support . In addition, the equipment will be used to support the research and teaching activities of the Bristol Colloid Centre, which provides research and training support for industry.
