Summary on Grant Application Form
(i) develop greater range of initiation procedures in Pd chemistry to allow diverse feedstocks to be accessed.(ii) Make the catalyst more versatile and more efficient by forming multiple different C-C and C-heteroatom bonds in each process ie cascade processes(iii) Seamlessly interface Pd catalysed cascades with key generic organic reactions such as cycloadditions (zero waste, 2 or more further bonds, up to 4 more stereocentres).(iv) Develop chiral processes where appropriate especially those employing chiral catalysts (for both cycloaddition and Pd chemistry).(v) Specifically target heterocycles because of their very broad range of applications.(vi) Demonstrate the new technology for key ring motifs and natural products relevant to the fine- and agro-chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
