Summary on Grant Application Form
We will consider the development of Bayesian models of heterogeneity and the extension of mixture models to complex data structures, in particular to the case of spatially correlated data and that of latent mismeasured heterogeneous variables. This will involve exploring different model formulations, characterising their properties, and implementation of these models via reversible-jump algorithms. Application of these models will be pursued, notably in geographical epidemiology and in typical measurement error situations. Comparisons with alternative formulations of heterogeneity via Dirichlet Process models will also be drawn. Finally we propose to investigate Bayesian model determination and compare several inferential criteria in the context of Bayesian models.
