Summary on Grant Application Form
With the convergence of the telecommunications and broadcast Technologies, there will be a need for intelligent receiver architectures, which have the capability for inter-operability between standards. These intelligent receivers must also offer significant improvements over exsisting techniques. This project aims to deal with this issue by developing a methodology for the design of flexible non-linear filters for use in such systems. The work will develop a suitable architecture, quantify its performance in limited word-length scenarios and produce a prototype design for exploitation by the industrial partner, Snell & Wilcox.
