Summary on Grant Application Form
The research will focus on the technology which is needed to demonstrate the feasibility of belt screen printing system research ill focus on five areas which also have generic applicability to screen printing using existing presses. The areas are the flow through the screen under a compliant squeegee (soft elastohydrodynamic behaviour), ink transfer mechanisms under the squeegee substrate, optimisation of belt screen structure (material choice a perforation pattern), investigation of manufacturing routes for perforated screens, and finally, primary characterization of he printing performance of the high speed belt screen printing system.
