Summary on Grant Application Form
The proposal is to hold a week long workshop for 40-50 participants under the auspices of the ICMS in Edinburgh during the week 14th-19th September 1998. The main theme of the week will be the relationship between integrability and Seiberg-Witten theory, in particular its connection with the Whitham equations (or generalised WKB). Other related structures including Frobenius manifolds, systems of hydrodynamic type and the WDVV equations will also be discussed. Professor I.M. Krichever (Columbia), who is one of the worlds experts in this area is an organiser of the meeting. The local organiser is the proposer.
