Summary on Grant Application Form
The project will research three key problems (i) how to analyse the effects of change in inter-organisational relationships, the business processes therein, and their impact on legacy systems. (ii) how to quantify the economic costs of different inter-organisational relationships in terms of workflow co-ordination, communication and requirements for inter-organisational systems (iii) how to analyse the information technology (IT) requirements to support planned inter-organisation systems, taking legacy systems into account. A business modelling method, base don transaction cost theory, will be developed for modelling inter-organisation relationships according to properties of a market and for assessing their potential costs. Scenario based requirements analysis method will be research to enable business objectives to be translated into system requirements taking the constraints of legacy systems into account.
