|
The effective application of technology is a key source of competitive advantage for modern industry. However, the integration of technology management systems with established business processes represents a continuing challenge to many manufacturing firms. These difficulties are compounded by global trends of increasing competition and technological change. However, current theoretical knowledge and industrial practice is diverse and fragmented. This proposal seeks to address these issues, by the establishment of a Technology management network.The proposed network will secure the wide range of informal academic and industrial national connection which have been developed under the EPSRC Technology Management initiative. It will extend this community to include leading overseas academics, together with engaging a network a small-medium sized high technology business in the Cambridge region.The network will actively develop links to other groups in the technology management's community. For example, the newly established Centre for Technology Management, which has drawn together a number of existing Cambridge technology management initiatives, including EPSRC funded research projects, together with their industrial academic connections.
