|
The project brings together the printing and coating expertise of the Welsh Center for Printing and Coating (WCPC) with the rheology research in the University of Wales Institute for non-Newtonian fluid mechanics. The project will lead to the formation of a Inks and Coating Rheology group which will link the above academic expertise with industry, administered by the WCPC. Over a three year period this will become self-supporting via industrial membership fees. Activities will include running workshops, industrial trails for inks and coatings, pilot fundamental studies pertinent to the characterization of the fluids, particularly visco-elastic properties and the relationship between the properties and phenomena during the manufacture and application of inks and coatings.
