Summary on Grant Application Form
The project will proceed in four main phases. In the first phase, we will perform a thorough assessment of the potential benefits of granularity for parallel functional programs. In the second phase, we will prototype the analysis we require. In the third phase, this will be integrated into a production parallel compiler. Finally, in the fourth phase we will assess the benefits that can be obtained for a real parallel machine, relating these to the results that were obtained in the first phase of the project.
