ICIAM 99 is a major international congress whose prime objectives include the active promotion of enhanced interaction between mathematics and its industrial and business applications. It will consist of 28 invited key lectures, over 300 mini symposia, and contributed talks. A significant innovative feature in the end-of-conference session presenting overviews and perspectives while also assessing future challenges. The congress will extend over five full working days with an expected attendance of 2000-3000. UK industry and business, in particular, will have access to a wide range of recent mathematical ideas and development highly relevant to their commercial and scientific interests.
