Summary on Grant Application Form
Funding is sought for the Perkin Elmer 'Lambda 19' ultraviolet/visible/near-infrared Spectrophotometer which will enhance the infrastructure of the Centre for Glass Research and the Department of Engineering Materials at the University of Sheffield. The excellent performance of the 'Lambda 19' UV-VIS-NIR Spectrophotometer is second to none in terms of absorbance sensitivity, spectral resolution and range. Purchase of the 'Lambda 19' Spectrophotometer is essential to the ultimate success of separate research programmes in place with Heineken and GEC-Marconi; both projects fall within materials areas highlighted in Foresight. Heineken and GEC-Marconi (and British Glass) are financially supporting this proposal.
