Summary on Grant Application Form
Comparing the effects of signals presented to cells by topography and by micropatterned surface peptide or protein chemistry. Especially on gene expression in cells. Printing adhesions and/or peptide and protein patterns on surfaces in order to position and activate cells along with topography.Investigating the quality of nano-fabricated regions of specific chemistry and comparing these with ones made by different method at Brown Uni. RI, USA.Looking at reactions of cells to such signals and comparing these with the effectiveness of topographical signal. This application is linked to a parallel application to NSF by Dr Valentini.
