Summary on Grant Application Form
The Partnership intends initially to focus its research activity on three themes:*Enhanced Functionality of Materials-providing the basis for greater customer benefit in product design;*Enhanced Environmental Sustainability of Materials-providing improvements in re-cyclability alongside weight and cost reduction;*Agile Manufacturing-providing the potential for rapid and customised response with reduced cost.Such themes will provide direct support to the key drivers of product enhancement, cost reduction and environmental sustainability. They will also provide for strong alignment with Technology Foresight with 14 of the 27 generic themes arising from Foresight having direct relevance to the Partnerships priorities. In excess of 20 specific projects within these themes are anticipated over the initial five years of the Partnership.
