Summary on Grant Application Form
This is a research proposal for a 12 month visiting fellowship for Dr Sergei V Novikov from Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute (St. Petersburg, Russia) to visit two Departments of Nottingham University: Department of Physics (Prof T Foxon and Dr OH Hughes) and Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Dr EC Larkins and Dr I Harrison) with the twin objectives of studying the molecular-beam epitaxial growth and properties of group III-Nitrides fro the Next Generation Laser Diode programme.Main expecting results of this fellowship are: 1) Installation of the Auger equipment; 2) Composition of the group Nitrides and Contacts using AES: 3) Determination of active nitrogen species for plasma and gaseous sources; 4) MBE growth of improved quality group III-Nitrides layers; 5) MBE growth on GaN substrates; 6) Improved mirror facets for laser technology.
