Summary on Grant Application Form
Fibre lasers have proven to be excellent and versatile sources of optical radiation. The objective of this proposal is the development of efficient diode pumped fibre lasers capable of operating at virtually any wavelength within the 400-1600 nm spectral region at power levels > 1W. Particular attention will be paid to developing a fibre laser operating simultaneously at red, green and blue wavelengths since this laser might find application in colour laser scanning and printing. We also plan to explore the possibility of all optical modulation of the developed source.
