Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of the proposed project is to explore how useful Raman microprobe spectroscopy would be as a new technique for providing local structural information with a spatial resolution of a few microns in hydrated and degraded cements. Raman microprobe spectra will be obtained from different microstructural features in partially cured Portland cements, slag cements and in cured cements exposed to carbonate with elemental microanalysis of the same features and the factors determining resolution will be established.
