Summary on Grant Application Form
A systematic strategic approach is proposed to realise the potential of diamond multi-layered structures for the high frequency SAW retiming filters. A unique electrophoresis technique will be developed to deposit strongly adhered diamond nanogrit as the nucleation seeds for diamond growth, H+ ions under bias will be used to selectively etch non- [001] oriented grains and to enhance the lateral growth of (001) faces. A strongly adhered (001) oriented ZnO will be deposited on oxidation etched diamond. Associated numerical calculations will be carried out to optimise the selection of materials.
