Summary on Grant Application Form
We have recently discovered an unprecedented diatereoselective reaction of enolates derived from asymmetric alpha-ketophosphonate with electrophiles. We now plan to extend our investigation and prepare a number of enantiomerically pure alpha-ketophosphonate and measure the diasteroininduction in the reaction of their enolate with eletrophiles. To demonstrate the usefulness of this methodology, we intend to apply it to the synthesis of a wide range of enantiomerically pure compounds. The methodology will be highlighted by the synthesis of (+) -intergerrinicic acid.
